Conditions of home visits by open prison inmates at a branch prison

1. Meeting the following regulations, the inmates in the open prison of Taichung Women's Prison who have relatives with direct or lineal relation, spouses or other relatives or family member living altogether can apply for home visits on holidays or national holidays.
   
   1. Those inmates whose monthly assignment performance reaches 80% two months before applying for a home visit.
   2. Before two months of applying for a home visit, those inmates have no record of rule violation or of moral grades requiring deduction.
2. Holidays or national days :
   1. Saturdays and Sundays.
   2. National Holidays or Holidays.
3. Regulated Times of Home Visits :
   1. Once each month for those inmates who serve a prison term from less than three years.
   2. Once each two months for those inmates who serve a prison term from three years to seven years. But of progressive implementation of reaching above 2rd level , once a month.
   3. Once each three months for those inmates who serve a term above seven years to fifteen years and of progressive implementation of reaching above 3rd level . Once each two months for those inmates who and of progressive implementation of reaching above 2nd level. Once each month for those inmates who and of progressive implementation of reaching above 1st level.
   4. Inmates with sentences of 15 years or more and at level 2 of progressive correction measures are allowed to have 1 time every 3 months. Inmates at level 1 of progressive correction measures are allowed 1 time every 2 months.
   5. Life imprisonment 1 visit every 3 months.
   6. For inmates at the age of 65 or above, they are allowed to apply for 1 home visit every month, without any limit of sentence and progressive correction measure.
4. Period of visiting home :
   1. A home visit cannot last over 40 hours; however, when consecutive 3 national holidays or holidays happen together, inmates can apply for another 24 hours for a home visit.
   2. The above time does not include the commuting time. There are other regulations concerning the return commuting time.
5. Registration regulations and activity range :
   1. Inmates who apply for a home visit must sign a family agreement. After we approve it, they should enroll at the local police station for a home visit agreement after they arrive home.
   2. The activity range is limited in the city or counties (cities) where they apply for a home visit, excluding the return trip between home and our prison.
6. When inmates do not return within the regulated time without giving reasons, the time which they remain outside of the prison is not counted as part of their penalty. In addition, this act would be regarded as a crime of escaping from the prison
